On Saturday November 26, 2011 The Downtown Lorain Christmas Council, Lorain Growth Corporation and the City of Lorain will be hosting the 2011 Light Up Lorain Celebration in downtown Lorain.
We are asking for your support for this wonderful event! We have many ways to participate!
· Outside Decorating FUN! Beginning in early November we will need able bodied volunteers to put lights on trees and displays on the ground.
· NEW & BIG fun! Elves needed for "Mrs. Claus' Kitchen".
· Lots and lots of Carolers; what better way to bring the spirit of the holidays to downtown Lorain than to sing Christmas carols! Stop in to bring a smile and a song to a local merchant or other business during Light Up Lorain Night or during the holiday season. Please call in advance so we can recognize your group for helping our Christmas Council and downtown area.
· Donations: We are accepting financial donations as well as Christmas decorations. Any decorations that are in working good condition will be accepted!
· Window Displays: Create a holiday display in one of the store fronts on Broadway.
What are the qualifications for the above opportunities?
People that want to bring JOY to others and who have a good, happy spirit are encouraged to participate in all of these opportunities. Good voices and good acting are NOT requirements. Your heart being in the right place and a desire to make a difference are necessary. At least be open to the 'Magic' that you are sharing with others.
We are also having our Annual Christmas Parade! We are currently looking for parade participants!
We hope that you will give serious consideration to helping make this the grandest holiday celebration Lorain has seen in over 40 years.
